Geography Īccording to the 2021 census gazetteer files, Homewood has a total area of 5.26 square miles (13.62 km 2), of which 5.22 square miles (13.52 km 2) (or 99.11%) is land and 0.05 square miles (0.13 km 2) (or 0.89%) is water.
It is bordered by Chicago Heights and Flossmoor to the south, Hazel Crest to the west, East Hazel Crest and Harvey to the north, Glenwood to the east, and South Holland to the northeast.
